Hurricane Hermine inadvertently bolsters county’s foreclosure bid

Taylor County Commissioners are one step closer to foreclosing on an abandoned Cedar Island home which they and neighboring homeowners have called a hazard due to cracks in its pilings as well as a number of derelict boats underneath.

According to county officials, those claims gained credence following Hurricane Hermine and the resulting storm surge, after which only one of the four boats left underneath the home remained.
