Mothers aren’t supposed to have favorites, but Karen Williams openly admits she did.

“Scott was my little stinker. He loved to aggravate his mother. He was my best friend. We did everything together,” she said Thursday.

“He was the glue that held us together–I had four children and Scott was the middle child. They all did everything together. And they were always there for one another. Very close-knit.”

Family members are drawing on that strength as they deal with the loss of their beloved son, father and brother. Williams, a deputy with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), was killed in an automobile crash Monday morning, Oct. 31, shortly after signing on for his shift.
