Middle school grades cut?

The current class of eighth graders at Steinhatchee School will be graduating in a few weeks and they could be the school’s last with district officials considering a plan to eliminate middle school grades (sixth through eighth) at the Steinhatchee site, a move that would affect an estimated 31 students next year.

The Taylor County School Board was expected to discuss the proposal during a workshop scheduled Tuesday, May 21, prior to its regular board meeting.
