A nine-year-old Taylor County Elementary School student was bitten by a pygmy rattlesnake Sunday afternoon, May 19, and airlifted to Shands Hospital in Gainesville where she remains in serious condition.
Madison Sadler and her family were on Cow Creek Grade (which is the road leading to Hickory Mound) when she stepped on the snake as she was getting out of their vehicle.
