Shooting death is reported, ‘no threat to public’

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is investigating a shooting that left a Perry man dead Monday night but officers said “there is no concern for public safety.”

Deputies were dispatched to a home on Smith Road (located off Hampton Springs Highway near Taylor Correctional Institution) around 9:19 p.m. Monday regarding a shooting incident.
