The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will have a special meeting at 2 p.m. EDT Friday, June 9, to discuss the Gulf red snapper season for private recreational anglers in state and federal waters. The three-day federal season ended Saturday.
Recent discussion between the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Gulf states indicates that there may be a way to add a substantial number of additional red snapper fishing days in federal waters this summer (2017), but Florida would have to give days to get days.
