FDOT begins drainage work along U.S. 98

Drainage improvements on U.S. 98 in Perry began Tuesday as crews worked to deepen a ditch and install an underground drainage system as part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project.

Nearly 600 feet of drainage pipe will be installed on the north side of U.S. 98 beginning just west of U.S. 19 and ending just past Schwartz Street, FDOT officials said. From there, 1,000 feet of existing ditch will be reshaped and deepened. Two drainage inlets will be installed in front of the Discount Liquors and Bar.
