In the last 18 years, the Taylor County School District has lost more than a quarter of its full-time equivalent (FTE) student enrollment.
According to figures provided by Superintendent of Schools Danny Glover Jr., the district’s enrollment has shrunk from 3,577 at the end of the 1999-2000 school year to 2,640 at the end of the most recent school year, a drop of 937 FTEs, or 26.1 percent, as calculated by the Florida Department of Education.
