Chan delivers action and emotion in revenge thriller ‘The Foreigner’

Jackie Chan is a film legend and one of the most talented — and brave — martial artists to grace the big screen, starring in such Hong Kong movies as “Police Story” and “The Legend of Drunken Master.” He has also found solid crossover success here in the U.S. with “Rush Hour” and “Shanghai Noon,” but for the most part, western directors have been unable to find a way to get the most out of his incredible skills.

At 63, he is getting up there in age, and making use of that fact is his latest film, “The Foreigner.” Even better, director Martin Campbell (“Goldeneye,” “Casino Royale”) knows how to not only create an entertaining and thrilling action film, but also, it seems, how to incorporate Chan into it.
