‘Mike the Welder’ busted for meth

The presence of two men–both with active warrants for their arrest–in an area under investigation for suspected drug activity tipped off investigators to the discovery of a “shake and bake” meth lab in Steinhatchee Wednesday afternoon.

Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) Drug Task Force members Inv. Jason Vinson and Sgt. Thomas Gunter were responding to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Vaughn Lane around 1:10 p.m.
