    Medical care for jail inmates drops by $10,000 per month

    A change in oversight and better management has resulted in county taxpayers saving upwards of $10,000 per month for the cost of providing medical care and prescription medication for inmates at the Taylor County Jail.

    Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) Capt. Marty Tompkins reports that the monthly bill for inmate prescription drug expenses is down to $4,000 per month from $14,000 per month just a few months prior.
