Joseph “Travis” Murphy turned himself in to Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) officials at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, before being booked and later released on an eight-count arrest warrant resulting from an altercation at a local gas station on Nov. 5.
After visibly struggling to climb the steps of the courthouse due to the gunshot wound he received during the altercation, Murphy, 42, appeared before County Judge Bill Blue, who set his bond at $5,000 and ordered Murphy not to have contact with his ex-wife and a male acquaintance, wear an active GPS monitor, surrender all firearms and ammunition and remain on house arrest with a 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew.
