The Taylor County Bulldogs’ state championship hopes were dashed Friday night at Dorsett Stadium, as the visiting Florida High Seminoles capitalized on a number of turnovers and mistakes to run away with a 56-43 win in the Class 3A Regional Finals.
The Bulldogs (8-4) scored enough points to win, but made too many mistakes against the (7-5) Seminoles, who took advantage of two interceptions returned for long touchdowns (14 points), two broken tackles on short passes that turned into long touchdowns (14 points) and a kickoff return for a touchdown (7 points) to account for 35 of their 56 points in the high-scoring track meet.
