A new ordinance that calls for key guarantees from individual(s) seeking economic incentives from the City of Perry is intended to “add another layer of protection between taxpayers’ money and prospective developers,” council members said when they passed the new law by unanimous vote.
Under the new guidelines, individual(s) seeking assistance will be required to submit a performance-based plan of action and collateral that would be used to secure the city-backed funds before the council would move forward with granting incentives.
