    Robert F. Blalock

    Robert F. Blalock, 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Perry on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, after a short bout with cancer.
    Robert was born Feb. 4, 1951, in Anniston, Ala., to Lt. Col. Douglas Blalock and Florence Owen Blalock.
    Bob was of the Christian faith and was a member of Cornerstone Community Church.
    He worked as a superintendent in the construction industry most of his life.
    In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking for friends and rooting for his Auburn Tigers. War Eagle!
    Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Florence Blalock, and his sister, Susan Anderson.
    Bob is survived by: his son, Brian Blalock, and wife, Leah, and their two children, Averi and Dawson; two brothers, Bill Blalock (Cheryl) and John Blalock (Theresa); sister, Inez Devlin-Kelly; and brother- in-law, James Anderson (Karen). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
    A celebration of Bob’s life will be held Saturday, Aug. 26, at 4:30 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother Curt Whitfield officiating.
    The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
    Afterward a reception for family and friends will be held at Casa Grande Restaurant, 2135 South Byron Butler Pkwy., to toast Bob and to share favorite stories about his life.
