Donald Autry “Bobby” Hodges, 82, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Bobby was born July 28, 1935, in Perry to Joseph Layton Hodges and Minnie Ophelia Jerrells Hodges. He was of the Church of Christ faith and was a member of Spring Warrior Church of Christ.
He worked in the forestry industry most of his working years, where he was a heavy equipment operator with M.A. Rigoni Logging and then with Buckeye Cellulose for more than 20 years before retiring. Bobby was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Hodges, and his parents, Mr. Joseph and Minnie Hodges.
Bobby is survived by: his son, Don Hodges, and wife Betty, of Perry; three grandchildren, Derek, J.R. and Nathan; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at Spring Warrior Church of Christ with Bro. Dan Chaney officiating. Interment followed at Spring Warrior Church of Christ Cemetery. The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, August 27, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
