    Ethel LaMar McDonald

    Ethel LaMar McDonald, 73, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 in Tallahassee.
    She was born Oct. 10, 1943 in Perry to Riley Miller Collins and Ophelia Hodges Collins.
    Mrs. McDonald was of the Christian faith and was a member of Spring Warrior Church of Christ, where she was actively involved in teaching Sunday school. She was a homemaker, and also was the bookkeeper for Clark Lumber Company for more than 16 years.
    LaMar was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby McDonald, and her parents, Riley Miller Collins and Ophelia Hodges Collins.
    Mrs. McDonald is survived by: her daughters, Robin Looper and her husband, David, of Tallahassee, and Holli Slaughter and her husband, Kevin, of Perry; her sister, Margie Hoskins, of Atlanta; her grandchildren, Katie Lackey and her husband, Tyler, Amy Looper, Brandon and Tyler Slaughter; and a soon-to-be great grandson; Peyton Lackey; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m., at Spring Warrior Church of Christ with Dan Chaney officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9-11 a.m. the morning of the service.
    In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Aucilla Christian Academy in her honor.
    All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
