Willie Newton Russell, 76, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017.
Willie was born April 8, 1941, in Eridu, to Hardy N. Russell and Rena Cruce Russell.
Mr. Russell was a Christian who loved his Lord and tried to honor Him to the best of his ability.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Hardy N. Russell and Rena Cruce Russell; brothers, Charlie, Sidney, Everet and Leroy Russell; and his sister, Josephine Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Linda Russell; three children, Maria Jones (Clint), Ronnie D. Russell (Rachel) and Claudia Russell; grandchildren Taylor Buckley, Levi Morgan, Landon Morgan and Kylie Jones; and two brothers, R.C. Russell (Barbara) and Homer Russell (Bernice); as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Danny Lundy officiating.
Interment services will follow immediately afterward in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m., at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
