    Brett Taylor Bassett

    Brett Taylor Bassett, 25, died Nov. 18, 2017, in Perry. Brett was born May 22, 1992, in Tallahassee to Jim Bassett and Suzanne McClellan Bassett.
    Brett was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Perry. He worked with the Taylor County School System as a teacher/coach. Brett was a member of the Perry Golf and Country Club, and an avid sports fan for FSU and Taylor County. He served as a football coach for the high school and also coached the middle school baseball and footballteams.Hewasalso a member of the Seminole Booster Club. Brett was a graduate of Taylor County High in 2010 and graduated from St. Leo University in 2016 with a criminology degree.
    Brett is survived by:his parents, Jim and Suzanne Bassett of Perry; brother, Jake Bassett, and niece, Annaleigh Bassett of Perry; sister, Allison Bassett of Jacksonville Beach; paternal grandfather, Jake Bassett; and maternal grandfather, Herschel McClellan, both of Perry; as a well as a host of extended family and friends.
    Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Dorsett Stadium with Pastor Larry Neal and Steve McHargue officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m., at the stadium. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
