    Eula Mae Hurst

    Eula Mae Hurst Hendrix, 82, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Nov. 17, 2017. Eula was born in Mayo on March 23, 1935.
    Eula was a graduate of Lafayette High School, North Florida Community College and Florida State University. She taught elementary school in Palatka and then in Perry untilherretirement.Shewas a longtime active member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Perry and lived in Perry until she went to Oakridge Assisted Living, and then to Lafayette Health Center in Mayo.
    She was preceded in death by: her parents, John Martin and Lula Mae Ward Hurst; her daughter and grandson, Nancy and Matthew Chambers; three sisters, Varney Rahn, Evie Lee and Thelma Hurst; and two brothers, Donald Hurst and Thomas Hurst.
    She is survived by: brother, Martin Hurst of St. Augustine; sister, Jeanette Whidden (Mike) of Fort Myers; and one sister-in- law, Lyndal Hurst (Donald) of Mayo; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
    Funeral services were held Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Sullivan officiating. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery.
