Shady Grove Center breaks ground Dec. 14

Taylor County officials and members of the Shady Grove community will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Shady Grove Community Center on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Park.

The Shady Grove Community Center has been in the planning stages for two years. According to County Commission Chairwoman Pam Feagle, the center will be a “cracker style” facility located at the Shady Grove Park, and available for use not only by those who live in the Shady Grove Community, but for all Taylor County residents.

“The facility will feature a kitchen, stage and room for a wide variety of events, including: family reunions, weddings, receptions, plays, sings, auctions, business meetings, etc.,” Feagle added. “There will also be a wrap-around porch where residents can gather to socialize or just watch the children play in the park.”
