The Perry City Council is expected to have a first reading Tuesday of a draft order that would suspend the “no dumping in city right-of-ways” provision outlined in the city’s trash ordinance.
The intent behind the provision, which was adopted by the council in November with a 90-day window before it went into effect, was to halt a longtime practice of residents discarding white goods (used furniture, appliances, etc.) along city roadsides for collection by the city’s public works department.
