    Oscar Edward “Ed” Walker

    Oscar Edward “Ed” Walker, 86, died Feb. 26, 2018. He was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Winter Haven, to Oscar Charles Walker and Jessie Bryan Walker.

    Ed honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of San Pedro Baptist Church in Perry. He worked with the Taylor County School Board Maintenance Department for 25 years.

    Ed was preceded in death by: his parents, Oscar and Jessie Walker; his brother, Charles A. Walker; three sisters, Louise Rainey, Virginia Banks and Glenda Sue Chappell; and a granddaughter, Audra Lea Walker.

    He is survived by: his wife, Willie Mae Williams Walker; children, Richard (Charlotte) Walker, Rodney Walker, Randy (Anita) Walker and Rusty Walker; sisters, Ella Mae Polk, Maxine Golden and Pansy Lewis; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at San Pedro Baptist Church with Pastor Gary French and Pastor Rick Patrick officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in San Pedro Baptist Church. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
