    Geroma N. Wiggins

    Geroma N. Wiggins, 77, died Feb. 25, 2018, in Perry at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 29, 1940, in Morven, Ga., to Russell Griffin and Lillie Mae Sapp Griffin.

    Geroma was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where she thoroughly enjoyed and actively attended. She worked with Taylor County School System for numerous years doing ground maintenance and janitorial services. Geroma was a member of the Perry Garden Club. Some of her interests include planting flowers in her yard and maintaining them, cooking and sewing.

    She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rufus G. “Sandblaster” Wiggins; her parents, Russell and Lillie Mae Griffin; and her brother, Frank Griffin.

    Geroma is survived by: her daughters, Lynn Wiggins Monk and Wendy W. Baumgardner (Roy Cook); her sister, Janie Thomas; her grandchildren, Chris Curry (Cheryl), Davy Jeremiah Dawn Monk, Amy Monk Pettitt (Josh), Dustin Baumgardner and Sarah Baumgardner; great-grandchildren, Makayla Harris, Susanna Curry, Aiden Monk, Hannah Claire Curry, Karter Harris, Anna Leah Curry, Aubrianna Monk, Kadence Pettitt and Kennedi Pettitt; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, at 10 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Bro. Billy Gipson officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Pineview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
