    Math, reading scores improve

    Third graders’ results from the reading and math portions of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) have been released by the state and in almost every area, local students showed improvement over last year’s scores.

    Additionally, the results of the FCAT writing test–given to students in grades four, eight and 10–were also released, with eighth graders at Taylor County Middle School (TCMS) exceeding the state average. The rest of the FCAT scores are expected to be released today (Friday).
