    Darold Gene Kelly

    Darold Gene Kelly, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga.

    Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m., in Concord Cemetery in Lovett. The family will receive friends today (Friday) from 6-8 p.m. at T. J. Beggs, Jr. & Sons Funeral Home in Madison.

    Darold was born in Indianapolis, Ind. and grew up in Waldron, Ind. where he graduated from Waldron High School. He was a pilot in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He continued working for the government as a defense logistics agent and moved to Perry in 1973. Darold then worked for Martin Electronics and retired in 1989. He moved to Madison County in 2001. He also worked for a courier service in Valdosta. He was known by his handle, “Inspector” and “Dummy” over the C.B. Radio. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Civil Air Patrol and the American Legion.

    Darold was pre-deceased by: his wife, Jacquelin; and a granddaughter, Kelly Washington.

    He is survived by: seven children, Vicki Fletcher (Jerry) of Lovett, Micheal Kelly (Betty), Peggy Lane (Dean), Lorraine Brooks, Kathy Cox (Glen), Peggy Bowers (Danny) and Paula Bullard, all of Indiana; brother, Patrick Kelly of Arizona; sister, Sheila James of Indiana; nine grandchildren, Billy, Jimmy, Lori, Jason, Mickey, Jamie, Brad, Craig and Shanon; as well as a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
