The tearful testimony of 19-year-old Oriana Forsythe painted a picture of a teenage girl who found herself tangled in a jealousy-driven murder committed by an abusive boyfriend who forced her to travel across the country, severely beat her and threatened to sell her into human trafficking. But was it true?

The trial of Oriana Forsythe for the murder of Steinhatchee resident Aaron Tappe continued on Wednesday, March 21, as the prosecution lined up 15 witnesses to support their case. The defense countered with only the defendant and her account of the events surrounding Tappe’s murder.
