TCHS retires Brett Bassett’s #33 jersey

The Taylor County High School (TCHS) baseball program held a somber pre-game ceremony honoring former Taylor County Middle School (TCMS) Baseball Coach Brett Bassett on Tuesday prior to the first pitch of the Bulldogs’ varsity baseball game against North Bay Haven.

TCHS Head Baseball Coach Reggie Wentworth gave an emotional statement, announcing that Bassett’s #33 jersey will be retired. After presenting Bassett’s family — brother Jake, sister Allison, mother, Suzanne, and father, Jim — with a framed jersey, former TCHS baseball stars William Wentworth and Taylor Ratliff unveiled a permanent outfield wall sign in Bassett’s honor.
