With their two toddlers napping, Raymond and Rainbow Brubaker thought it would be a good time Wednesday to leave them under the watchful eye of their 14-year-old brother and make a quick trip to town.
They had only been gone a short while when their phone rang and their son told them that someone was trying to break into their house.
PHOTO: A sheriff’s deputy was on the scene of an attempted home invasion near Sea Oaks Drive, off Beach Road, within seven minutes of 911 receiving the call. “This quick response is a direct result of our zone patrols and having deputies staying in those zones to facilitate faster response times,” Sheriff Wayne Padgett said.
