Tommie Jean Corbin, 71, of Perry, died April 25, 2018, at her residence in Perry. Tommie was born in Tallahassee on February 18, 1947, to Thomas Jefferson Bratcher and Elsie B. Stokes Bratcher. She was a lifelong resident of Taylor County.
Tommie was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a licensed cosmetologist and worked as a hairdresser in Taylor County for more than 40 years. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, arranging flowers and painting.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Thomas Jefferson Bratcher and Elsie B. Stokes Bratcher; her daughter, Pamela Jean Padgett; and her sister, Geraldine Leggett.
She is survived by: her husband of 35 years, Michael Vernoy Corbin of Perry; her son, Jefferson Leroy Padgett Sr. of Perry; her daughter, Linda Padgett Brown (Billy) of Perry; two brothers, Morris Paxton Bratcher of Perry and James Wesley “Phil” Bratcher, of Steinhatchee; two sisters, Joan Hathcock of Perry and and Claudine Jackson, of Perry; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Pisgah Cemetery on Saturday, April 28, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends on today (Friday) from 6-8 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home in Perry.
