Christine Margaret Ray

Christine Margaret Ray, 74, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, surrounded by loved ones after an extensive battle with cancer.
She was born in Tampa on Jan. 3, 1944, to Thomas “Tony” Gomez Jr. and Margaret Catherine Walker Gomez.
She was preceded in death by: both her parents, Thomas and Margaret Gomez; a brother, Thomas Frank Gomez; and a grandson, Thomas Allen Ray Jr., all of Tampa.
Christine is survived by: two sons, Artie Charles Ray Sr. of Lake Wales and Thomas Allen Ray Sr. of Tampa; one daughter, Darlene (Jeff) Puckett of Perry; grandchildren, Alan Lawless and Ashley Lawless Grubbs of Perry, John (Beth) Lawless of Tallahassee, Robert Ray of Inverness, Timothy Ray of Tampa, Artie Ray Jr., Justin, Jessica and Richard Ray of Lake Wales; and nine great-grandchildren.
She lived most of her life in Tampa before moving to Taylor County in 2003.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and boating. Christine loved her family and friends dearly.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and Big Bend Hospice.
