Zachary Lee Stephens, 22, of Crawfordville, died May 1, 2018. Zachary was born May 16, 1995, in Tallahassee, to Jefferey Lee Stephens and Courtney Nicole Fleming Stephens. He graduated high school in 2013.
Zachary was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed building things, even from a very young age where he would build large and complex creations with Legos. Later, he built his very own motorized bicycle.
In 2015, he began a lengthy and difficult rehabilitation following a motorcycle accident, proving to his family and friends that he was a strong and determined young man. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking in the mountains and spending time with his dog, Palladin.
He is survived by: his loving parents, Jeff and Nikki Stephens, of Gibsonville, N.C.; his brother, Zane Stephens; his paternal grandparents, JoAnn Watts and Lamar Lee Stephens, both of Perry; his maternal grandparents, Debbie Joyce, of Crawfordville, and Ronnie Fleming, of Perry; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, at the Burns Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Perry with Pastor Charles Morris officiating. Interment followed in Pisgah Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
