John Kenneth “Ken” Lee of Coolidge died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Magnolia Manor in Moultrie, Ga.
Ken was born in the Cabbage Grove area of Taylor County on Oct. 28, 1938. He was the son of the late William Perry Lee and Jessie Beach Lee.
He was a retired banker from Bank of America. As a young man, he served honorably in the U.S. Army and worked at Buckeye for some years in the lab, before becoming a banker.
Ken loved the outdoors and his passion was training bird dogs. He was a man of great character with a keen sense of humor who loved his family and was known as a “Man’s Man.”
He was married to Linda Joy Lee, who preceded him in death in 2014.
Survivors include: his daughter Paula Lynn Fowler of Coolidge; grandchildren, Tyler Murrah and Ashtin Banks; great-grandchild, Jadyn Murrah; sister-in-law and brother-in-law who he raised, Susan Hosay of Perry, and Ricky Gipson of Pavo, Ga.; sister, Carol Methvin, and husband, Rodney, of Perry,
Ken was preceded in death by his siblings Bill Lee, Annie Lee Franklin, Elsie Mae Ricketson, and Jeanine Benenati.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 10, at 3 p.m., at the Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Gipson officiating.
His family will receive friends on hour prior to the service.
