Ronald “Ron” Dale Fletcher, 72, a long-time resident of Marathon, Mayo, and Perry, died Saturday, April 28, 2018.
Ron grew up in south-central Indiana on his family’s farm and graduated from Milan High School in 1963. He was the youngest of Floyd and Stella Fletcher’s children. He married Shyra Collins-Fletcher (deceased) in 1964 and Danice “Kitty” Schmidt-Fletcher (deceased) in 1987.
He was a skilled tradesman in construction, handling mid-to-large residential new and remodel structures. He enjoyed spending time on the ocean fishing, repairing and painting vehicles, playing checkers, traveling throughout the U.S. and Mexico, and was quite the history buff (and a great story-teller too!). He had a soft place in his heart for cats and loved and cared for many during his life. He could always be counted on to help a neighbor or friend in need.
Ron is survived by: his daughter, Christa Tourault; son-in-law, Pete Staubitz; granddaughters, Lindsay and Nicole Tourault, of Colorado; sister, Shirley Turner; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Indiana. He will be missed by many and his memory will be cherished.
