    Ralph Drayton Reams

    Ralph Drayton Reams, 68, died May 10, 2018, in Perry. Drayton was born April 27, 1950, in Monticello, to Robert David Reams, Jr. and Myrtle Douglas Reams.

    Drayton honorably served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Division. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. He was a retired safety inspector with Frucon.

    Drayton was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert David Reams, Jr. and Myrtle Douglas; his brothers, Lonnie and Charles Fender; and two sisters, Hattie Mae Fender and Nancy Ratliff.

    Drayton is survived by: his wife, Dian Reams; his children, Marsha, Rachel (Nathan), and Jason (Jessica) Reams, and stepsons Jason (Tammy) and Johnny Bennett.; his siblings, David (Diana) and Bobby (Cissy) Reams, Joan (Glen) Williamson, Jerry Stanaland, Sue Connell and Laura Carroll; three grandchildren; as a well as a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family.

    A memorial service was held Monday, May 14, at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Lee Young officiating. The family received friends beginning at 1 p.m. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
