Ouida Nell Dorman

Ouida Nell Dorman, 82, died May 13, 2018, in Perry. Ouida was born Dec. 25, 1935, in Foley, to Nils Shinholser and Estelle McCray Shinholser.

Ouida was of the Christian faith and was a member of South Center Street Church of God. Ouida was a homemaker. She loved her family and her grandchildren were her heart. She loved her three dogs and she kept an award winning yard.

Ouida was preceded in death: by her parents, Nils Shinholser and Estelle McCray Shinholser; her brother, Spooky Shinholser and his wife, Christine; and her son-in-law, Sonny O’Quinn.

She is survived by: her husband of 66 years, Douglas Gary Dorman; her three daughters, Debra (Mark) Norris, Judy (Charlie) Roberts and Sandra O’Quinn, all of Perry; her brother, Charles Ray (Virginia) Shinholser, of Jacksonville. Her three grandchildren, Ian (Sean) O’Quinn-Hicks, Abby (Brad) Darsey, all of Thomasville, Ga, and Laurie (Hud) Lilliott, of Perry; her four great-grandchildren, Ayden Darsey, Taylor, Hayden and Clara Jane Lilliott; her three dogs; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Rev. Donnie Shinholser and Pastor Jack Jones officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards at Carlton Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
