    Zola Dean Spradley

    Zola Dean Spradley, 82, of Perry, died May 17, 2018, at the Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park. She was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Jamestown, Tenn., to Lonzia Beaty and Opal Greer Beaty.

    Dean was of the Methodist faith and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Perry. She worked as a teacher’s aide with the Taylor County School System for 19 years before retiring in 1995. Dean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family. She was an avid Florida Gator football fan and for many years enjoyed traveling with her husband to out-of-town games. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, cooking for her family, gardening and watching her grandchildren play sports.

    She is survived by: her husband of 61 years, Wayne Spradley; two sons, Gary Spradley, of Orlando, and Randy Spradley and wife, Rhonda, of Perry; one daughter, Kandra Bell, of Tallahassee; one brother, Frank Beaty, of Parker, Ind.; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Karmen, Marcus, Brett, Anna and Holly; four great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 21, in the Burns Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Perry with Bro. James Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Pineview Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.. All arrangements are in the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
