In preparing for Monday’s Memorial Day ceremony, Sheriff Wayne Padgett knew the weather was going to be a major factor.
Someone asked him, “Why don’t you just cancel?”
“I told them, ‘They didn’t cancel on us’,” Padgett shared during his opening remarks Monday morning as the annual event honoring Taylor County’s war dead proceeded as planned.
