Derrick Robert Hunter, 40, of Statenville passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Tallahassee on January 8, 1978 to Eddie Wesley Hunter, Jr. and the late Connie Marie Brock Hunter. Mr. Hunter enjoyed wrestling, gaming on his playstation, and taking selfies. He was a jokester who enjoyed making people laugh. He loved kids and his family and friends. Mr. Hunter was engaged to be married to his fiancee Linda Griffin on June 1st.
Survivors include his son, Tyler Jaden Hunter of Hahira; two brothers, Dominic Ryan Hunter of Valdosta, Shawn Daniel Hunter of Perry, FL; half-sister, Amy Elizabeth Hunter of Indiana; special aunt, Jean Caraway of Perry, FL; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, R.J. Brock and Rena Irene Brock, Eddie Wesley Hunter, Sr. and Lois Juanita Hunter.
Memorial services for Mr. Hunter will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2018 in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
