Vera Mae Vaughn

Vera Mae Vaughn, 74, died June 5, 2018, in Tallahassee. Vera was born Dec. 19, 1943, in Kinard, to Ashley Dock Armstrong and Mary Louise Blair Armstrong.

Vera was of the Holiness faith and was a member of The Church of God. She was a minister for more than 50 years.

Vera was preceded in death by: her parents, Ashley Dock Armstrong and Mary Louise Blair and L. D. and Eunice Blair; her husband, Jack Vaughn; her son, Junior Vaughn; her four brothers, Dowling (Chick), Rex and Mikey Blair and John O’Neal; and her three sisters, Carolyn Bretz, Lorraine O’Neal and Jo Christensen.

Vera is survived by: her daughter, Kathy Sturdivant; her sons, John, Ronnie, Chris and Cody Vaughn and Michael Paul; her brothers, Donnie and Jimmy Blair, James O’Neal and Wayne Bretz; her sisters, Syble Palmer, Janice Blair, Pattie Mathis and Barbara Wallace; as a well as a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8, at 4 p.m. at The Church of God with Rev. Syble Palmer officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
