Circuit Judge David Fina issued an order Wednesday partially granting a motion brought on behalf of convicted murderer Garrett Arrowood, who is seeking a new trial after receiving a life sentence for his role in the death of his aunt, former educator Shelly Strickland.
Arrowood’s attorney renewed his motion to depose state prosecutors John Weed and James McCain (who oversaw Arrowood’s first degree murder trial in 2016) as he prepares to present allegations of prosecutorial misconduct during an upcoming evidentiary hearing scheduled for August.
