The Taylor County Commission is one step closer to securing funding to dredge the Keaton Beach and other coastal canals after approving a contract with Langston Associates in Jacksonville to write and administer the federal grants necessary to cover the cost of the project.
The county received two proposals in April after soliciting for interested firms. Then in May, the commission selected Langston Associates over Government Services Group in Tallahassee based on the recommendation of its bid committee, which consisted of Grants Director Melody Cox, County Administrator Ted Lakey and Assistant County Administrator LaWanda Pemberton.
