Local playwright’s holiday story will be performed in Monticello

Local author, columnist and playwright Anthony Lamarr will see his play, “The Long Goodbye,” performed near his hometown of Perry for the first time later this year. The play opens at the Monticello Opera House on Nov. 30 with additional dates on Dec. 1-2 and 7-9.

“The play’s story is set within Monticello. The Opera House is also featured in the play, and one of my goals when writing the play was to have it performed at the Opera House,” Lamarr said.
