When the Perry City Council tackles weeding through 14 applications in search of a new city manager tonight (Friday), they will be forging ahead “with no plan in place” as far as its next step – and the public will not be allowed to offer any input.
“This will be a working meeting. There will not be an opportunity to take public comments. (Hiring a new city manager) is our responsibility by charter, and Friday night we are not going to open the floor for public comment,” Councilman Mike Deming said during talks at the council’s regular meeting Tuesday.
