Livingston: cold-blooded killer or a changed man?

After spending nearly 33 years in prison — including six on death row — Jessie James Livingston Jr. was re-sentenced for the murder of Irene Buckhalter Hill on Wednesday. While the state argued to have Livingston’s current sentence of three life terms re-imposed, the defense fought for a sentence of time served.

The decision was placed in the hands of Circuit Court Judge Greg Parker, after he listened to testimony from the victim’s grandson, the defendant’s brother, a clinical and forensic psychologist and the defendant himself.
