On the heels of disappointing state assessment scores, local school officials received an unexpected surprise on Wednesday when they learned the Taylor County School District had earned its first “B” grade in nine years — by one percentage point.
At the individual school level, Taylor County Middle School (TCMS) led the pack with a “B” of its own — the first grade higher than a “C” earned by a local school since 2014.
