‘Tag’ proves you don’t have to grow up if you have friends willing to play

The older I get, the surer I become that I don’t want to be an adult. It’s just not for me. That’s why when I saw the trailer for the new comedy “Tag,” I really wanted to see it. The story follows a group of friends who have continued playing the same game of tag one month out of the year for the past three decades. Amazingly, the film is based on a true story, as told in a series of articles in the Wall Street Journal. What better way to keep hold of your youth?

You know how some comedies are really smart and clever and surprise you with a complex story and new ways to make you laugh?

“Tag” is not that kind of comedy. In fact, it’s pretty dumb. And it’s all the better for it, because this movie had me laughing from start to finis,h with 100 minutes of pure entertainment (well, not too pure, since it is rated R).
