    Ellen Ruth Mims

    Ellen Ruth Mims, 72, died June 27, 2018, in Mayo. Ellen was born Oct. 15, 1945, in Tallahassee, to Jeff Sullivan and Doris Norman Sullivan.

    Ellen loved her family and spending time with them. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed crocheting, having family gatherings and was the Avon Lady of Taylor County for many years.

    Ellen was preceded in death by: her parents, Jeff and Doris Sullivan; and two brothers, Bobby “Catfish” Sullivan and William “Rabbit” Sullivan.

    She is survived by: five children, Mark Mims, Sherry Brown (Gordon), Shirley Stephens (Dean), Tammy Miller and Donald Cook (Jesika); 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Watson and Barbara Sullivan, both of Pinetta; and two brothers, Charlie Sullivan of Pinetta and Johnny Sullivan of Tallahassee; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at Pisgah Cemetery with the Rev. Marc Pargo officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
