Evelyn Leona Bass, 93, of Perry, died June 28, 2018, at the Lake Park Nursing Home in Madison. She was born in Lake City March 10, 1925, to the late Newton Noonan and Nevada Albritton King.
Evelyn was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Antioch Christian Center in Perry. She married Reed Willard Bass July 10th, 1969.
Evelyn was an awesome daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-love and was dearly loved by her family. She was a homemaker and enjoyed going to flea markets, fishing, gardening, sewing, embroidery and crocheting. She liked to cook and loved spending time with her family and friends. Evelyn also worked for a short time at Lee Cypress in Perry.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Newton and Nevada King; her husband, Reed Willard Bass; two grandchildren, Andy Perry and Ian Matthew Perry; a stepdaughter, Mary Ann Fahnestock; a stepson, John Bass; three sisters, Edith, Bessie and Mildred; and three brothers William, Jimmy and Hollis.
Evelyn is survived by: her children, Lester Theron (Bonnie) Perry, Randy Gene (Rhonda) Perry and Michael Ray (Kim) Perry, all of Perry, and her stepsons, Jesse Willard (Linda) Bass of Perry and Samuel Jesse (Roseanne) Bass of Connecticut; her grandchildren, Ryan (Starla) Perry, Rachel White and friend Shon Thomas, Mike Stanaland, Megan (Tim) Thibault, Amy (Scott) Cunningham, Aubrey (Carmelita) Perry, Tracie Perry, TJ (Katie) Thompson, Angie (Morris) Bratcher, Matt (Melissa) Thompson, Lydian Landry, Catherine Wolferman, Levi (Susie) Bass, Melissa (Tiger) McMullen, Lasaundra and Michelle, Angela, Donna and Suzanne; great-grandchildren, Riley and Paighton White, Jeremy Thomas, Haley and Jacob Perry, Morgan and Stephen Horne, Jordan (Marlena) Cunningham, Justin Howard, Mary, Carolyn and Trinity Perry, Christian, Noah, Levi, Josh and Anne Thompson, Kaili and Brennen Dewey, Erica, Dixie and Michael Landry, Miranda, Alan, Thomas, Ariana and Dalton Bratcher, Haley Wolferman, Samantha (Daniel) May, Amber McMullen, Ian, Lauren and Levi and nine other great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, James May; one sister, Rachel Woolney; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m., at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brother David Johnson and Brother Tim McDonald officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately after the service in Pineview Memorial Cemetery. All arrangements are with Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
