Local athletes flock to Knowles benefit tournament

Athletes from Perry and surrounding areas came together Saturday to compete in a baseball tournament at the Taylor County Sports Complex that raised well over $2,000 for the family of Zack Knowles — a six-year-old boy currently receiving treatments for leukemia in Gainesville.

The tournament included four teams, with players ranging in age from 8-12, as well as a home-run derby for players in three different age groups.
